Many girls can say that they have experience with men’s styling if they have ever had a boyfriend to dress. For me, I started dressing my boyfriends in high school. However, recently I finally was able to style a male actor for the cover of a magazine, this shoot with Simon Helberg from the Big Bang Theory was a treat and lots of fun.

I’ve definitely put my focus more into styling women in the past then men because honestly I’ve always thought women’s clothing is more interesting BUT I’ve really enjoyed all the men’s styling I’ve being doing of late. Taking on the challenge is more rewarding as well because you really have to let your creativity work with your environment and resources. I can never stress enough how important it is to keep your client happy, comfortable and confident. If they don’t feel right in their clothes it shows in the pictures, and magazines want happy celebrities!!

This shoot was for LIVE Orange County Magazine with Simon Helberg from the Big Bang Theory. He was so much fun to work with and made my job all that much more enjoyable. The shoot was hosted at aLine Media and we used many of their men’s lines, which I love how many they have, Billionaire Mafia, Civic Duty, Dorsia and Counsil to name a few.

In the showroom world of fashion styling I find its harder to find the perfect men’s products to use for fashion spreads and showrooms like aLine Media are perfect because of all the products they carry for us fashion stylists!! I kind of feel bad that men don’t get to have as much fun getting dressed as women do but do men really enjoy getting dressed as much as women do? Well maybe if their wardrobes were more fun they would.
